Pasco County, Florida -- Come test out your baseball skills at Veterans Memorial Park!

Pasco County Parks and Recreation and Veterans Memorial Park will host Pitch, Hit & Run.

Pitch, Hit & Run is a competition where participants get to try out different aspects of baseball. Competitors ages 7 to 14 get to pitch from a designated target, hit from a stationary batting tee for distance and accuracy, and run from second base to home plate for time.

Come see the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships

Pasco County, Florida -- The City of New Port Richey is welcoming back the Southern Region In-Line Speed Skating Championships.

The two day event will take place at the Spinnations Skating Center on Congress Street on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19.

Close to 200 speed skaters will compete in over 180 races over the weekend. Relays and metered races for all the divisions from Tiny Tot through to the Grand Veterans will compete on Saturday and on Sunday the Novice Division will skate. Doors open at 8:00 a.m. on both days.

Pasco County, Florida -- Register your kids for camp before summer starts!

Summer Day Camp at Shady hills Community Center will run for 7 weeks from June 24 thru August 9 for ages 5-13. Camp hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Make sure to bring the following info to registration: Proof of Pasco County residency, driver licnese or picture ID, emergency phone numbers and medical insurance info, cash or checks made payable to BOCC, birth certificate and proof of Kindergarten completion.

The cost of the camp is $15.00 per week.

Durney Key Challenge

Pasco County, Florida -- The Durney Key Challenge is a 2.3 mile paddling race course around stilt houses in open water starting and ending on Durney Key, a small island just off the mouth of the Pithlachascotee (Cotee) River in Port Richey, Pasco County.

Along the course there will be 10 unique challenges testing paddling skills and endurance.

The race will take place on Sunday, April 28 and check in begins at 8:30 a.m. from 9:30 a.m. The Captain meeting is at 10 a.m. and the first wave of participants starts at 10:30 a.m.

Suncoast Arts Fest “Family Fun Run”

Wesley Chapel, Florida -- There's only a little time left to sign up for the Suncoast Arts Fest "Family Fun Run" on Jan. 20.

The run benefits local arts programs for kids – student and teacher scholarships, classroom grants and more. Artwork will be awarded to Overall Male & Overall Female runners with additional awards going to First Male Student and First Female Student. Ribbons will be given to all finishers.

The run will be held at the Shops at Wiregrass at 9 a.m.

Land O' Lakes, Florida -- As the new year approaches and you add, yet again, the resolution to "get in shape", The Land O' Lakes Recreation Complex located on Collier Parkway, is making it a little easier for you in 2013!

There are great opportunities for mixed-level group fitness classes every Saturday.

Each week participants will partake in light to strenuous routines from a wide range of exercise style.
