''Lin-sanity'' inspires Sunlake Point Guard | HS Sports

Land O'Lakes, Florida -- This whole "Lin-sanity" thing is nothing new to Sunlake basketball player Brenden Huynh. He's been a Jeremy Lin fan since the beginning.

"I kind of got mad, because everyone just hopped on the bandwagon. He's been one of my favorite player for a while, I just saw him and he was Asian so I had to like him," joked Huynh.

Much like Jeremy Lin, this Asian-American point guard -- who averaged double digits in his Sophomore season -- has earned himself quite a few nicknames.

"Around school all I hear is 'Huynh-sanity,' 'Huynh-believable,' 'Huynh-stoppable'... I hear it every day," said Huynh.

Huynh grew up as a New Jersey Nets fan watching the games with his father. His father didn't know anything about basketball when he moved to the United States, so he scoured basketball books and studied YouTube videos to teach Brenden to play.

"I would go out and shoot hoops with my dad and my dream has always been to play in the NBA someday," said Huynh.

Thanks to this recent "Lin-derella" story, Huynh might just have a shot.

"Lin just shows that if you work hard you can do anything, he did it, so maybe I can do it too," said Huynh.
