Pasco learns how to collect | Events
Land O' Lakes, Florida -- Attorney Steve Mezer of Bush|Ross in Tampa will help Pasco County communities learn how to collect fines and liens imposed upon landowners when he addresses the Thursday, Nov. 8, meeting of the Pasco Alliance of Community Associations (PACA).
The public meeting begins Thursday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Land O' Lakes Community Center, located at 5401 Land O' Lakes Blvd. (US 41), three miles north of SR 54.
Mezer will explain the issues surrounding the imposition and collection of fines and liens imposed upon landowners by homeowner and community associations. The fines and liens can be imposed when landowners repeatedly refuse to comply with rules in a deed-restricted community.
He will also discuss the laws that associations must follow to ensure they respect landowner rights when imposing and collecting fees. He will answer questions from the audience following his presentation.
Mezer has built one of the largest and most successful practices dedicated to serving the unique needs of homeowner and condo associations in Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Arts cum laude in 1974 from University of Miami and his J.D. from Stetson University in 1977. Mezer's bar admissions allow him to practice in Florida and Washington D.C., the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the US Court of appeals for the 5th and 11th circuits.
PACA is a not-for-profit organization whose members include 73 of Pasco County's homeowner associations, community development districts, condominium associations and other groups.
